Lance Glynn, Owner/ Black Belt Instructor

Lance is an instructor and Co-owner at Paragon BJJ Santa Maria. He's a Black Belt under Ricardo "Franjinha" Miller. He lives for competition and is constantly travelling up and down the west coast, either coaching or competing. Recently, he won entry to the 2016 UAEJJF competition in Abu Dhabi where he got the chance to compete in one of the most prestigious tournaments in the world.

John Letters, Owner/ Black Belt Instructor

John is an instructor and Co-owner at Paragon BJJ Santa Maria. He received his Black Belt under Ricardo "Franjinha" Miller in 2012. He competes as regularly as his schedule allows, he's a 2 time Pan Am Silver Medalist, International IBJJF Master Champion, World Master Bronze Medalist, World No Gi Bronze Medalist, and American National Silver Medalist.

Ray Arensdorf, Black Belt Assistant Instructor 

Ray received his Brown belt from Ricardo "Franjinha" Miller in 2012 after starting Jiu Jitsu in 1998. He enjoys competing and won Silver in 2014 at the Pan Jiu Jitsu Championships (in the Master 3 med heavy Brown Belt division). His first Jiu Jitsu experience came years prior to starting his journey. In 1991 prior to UFC 1, he rolled with Royce Gracie at the Torrance Academy. At the time he was a Brown Belt in Judo and in his own words, "Royce beat me like it was the thing to do". He's been in love with Jiu Jitsu ever since. 


Pete Fabela, Brown Belt Assistant Instructor

Peter "Wutangpete" Fabela has been in Jiu Jitsu for over four years and is a brown belt at Paragon BJJ, under Lance Glynn, John Letters and Ricardo “Franjinha” Miller. He's very active in the competition scene, having competed in nearly every type of tournament grappling style. Ranging from Eddie Bravo Invitational (EBI) to IBJJF. He competes in Gi and No-Gi but mainly focuses on Gi Jiu Jitsu. He's a 7x Five grappling medalist , 11x Grapplers Quest medalist, Gracie Nationals champion and many more. He originally got into martial arts through his Dad, an American Kenpo black belt. With fitness and training a major part of his regimen, he recently received certification as a personal trainer.
